Join Charlestown Gallery for an engaging wine tasting surrounded by our distinctive collection of art. The tasting will feature a thoughtfully selected range of wines chosen by wine educator Nat Saywell of M.S. Walker, who will share his expertise and insights into the wine being poured. 

Gallery Director Kimberly Howard will also be on hand to discuss the artworks featured at the gallery.

This event offers a relaxed opportunity to expand your palate and enjoy an evening of art, conversation, and discovery at Charlestown Gallery!

PAINTING DEMONSTRATION

Join gallery artist Bob Lavoie for a special demonstration of his painting methods and techniques.

Bob will demonstrate how he creates the highly realistic artwork for which he is known. During the demonstration, he will be working on a painting of Jim Clark’s 1967 Lotus-Ford Grand Prix car.

The subject has special meaning for Bob; he attended his first Formula 1 race at Watkins Glen, where Jim Clark won the race driving this very Lotus. That experience sparked Bob’s lifelong fascination with Formula 1 and has continued to influence his artistic work.

Come watch Bob bring this iconic Formula 1 car to life and gain an inside look at the methods and techniques behind his highly realistic paintings.

Join Antonia Tyz Peeples, one of Charlestown Gallery's most collected and beloved artists as she guides us through creating her captivating seascapes and for the first time introduces us to her process and technique for creating the translucent effect on her fruit. The image above is an example of what she will use as your inspiration.

Antonia will demonstrate her techniques, share her color palette and work 1:1 with each student starting where you are in your skill and process.  Students should have some basic painting experience but formal education is not required.  Come to learn and have fun.

All students will work from one image provided by Antonia and can expect to create one to two 8x10  paintings during this two day course. A materials list will be provided upon registration.
